Not sure where to start, or need help with a specific issue?
Every training journey begins with a free initial phone call. We’ll go through your new client form, discuss your dog’s history, current challenges, and what support you’re looking for. This helps me understand your dog and make sure we get the most out of your first session together.
Your initial 1–2–1 session is designed to:
We’ll work at a pace that feels achievable for both you and your dog, using calm, reward-based methods tailored to your individual situation.

Follow-up sessions can then build on your dog’s progress over time, helping create consistency, confidence and long-term results in everyday life.
Support is always tailored to your goals, your dog’s needs, and a pace that feels realistic for you both - with honest, professional guidance throughout.
If specialist clinical behaviour support is needed, I will always advise and refer appropriately.

My Philosophy
-
Dog Welfare Always Comes First
I use reward-focused, science-led training that prioritises your dog’s emotional and physical wellbeing. -
Training Dogs and Owners Together
You learn alongside your dog with practical skills that last a lifetime. -
Building Strong, Trusting Relationships
Patience, kindness and clear communication strengthen the bond between you and your dog. -
Confidence Through Positive Learning
Supportive, enjoyable sessions help dogs grow in confidence and owners feel capable and reassured. -
Professional, Accredited and Science-Led
I am a PACT accredited trainer and ABTC registered — the only UK register recognised by leading welfare organisations including Dogs Trust, RSPCA and Blue Cross (https://abtc.org.uk/about/). I am also a Pet Remedy Professional Partner. -
Compassion Shaped by Real Experience
Experience with rescue organisations including the RSPCA and Soi Dog Foundation (Thailand) informs my empathetic, hands-on approach. -
Promoting Responsible Dog Ownership
I empower owners to support happy, well-adjusted dogs and prevent unnecessary rehoming.
Why Train With Me?
Training should feel practical, supportive and focused on real results you can see in everyday life.
I take a calm, encouraging approach so you can learn at your own pace in a safe, judgement-free space.
My methods are shaped by hands-on experience rehabilitating rescue dogs within an RSPCA shelter environment, as well as working with dogs alongside neurodivergent children. This has strengthened my belief in reward-based training, clear communication and the importance of supporting both the dog and the individual needs of each family.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Some dogs find group classes overwhelming and training in a class doesn’t always translate to real life. That’s why I work exclusively 1-2-1 - so every session is tailored to your dog, your lifestyle and your goals.
I’m fully insured to work with all dogs, including legally restricted ('banned') breeds. I understand the additional responsibilities and limitations owners may face and work confidently within legal boundaries to support you and your dog responsibly.
At the heart of everything I do is your relationship with your dog - building trust, clarity and confidence so you can enjoy a calmer, happier life together.
Jodie has been brilliant with my sister’s nervous, reactive sausage dog. She was incredibly patient and took the time to really understand his behaviour, which made a huge difference. We’ve seen a big improvement in his confidence and his recall off lead is so much better now. Would definitely recommend Jodie to anyone needing a calm and knowledgeable dog trainer.

Real experiences from owners I’ve worked with
Jodie very quickly and practically gave me the tools needed for Winston to make lead walking less stressful on him and us, just a week later and following the advice from her his walking is very much improved and it’s like walking a different dog. Jodie had real knowledge and took her time to understand Winston and our needs and has given us real confidence walking on the lead again. I cannot recommend her enough!

Jodie was such a big help with our rescue Russian Toy Terrier who is reactive to friends/strangers coming over the house. She taught us how to understand the signs of when he’s stressed and techniques on how to get him settled and used to visitors staying over which makes it all a much less stressful experience!
